What are some techniques to prevent containerized plants from getting blown over by the wind

Yes, our summer thunderstorm season with strong winds has arrived, blowing things every which way. Depending on their size and manageability, you could try setting the containers inside even larger containers that are weighted down with sand or bricks in the bottom. Or set the base of a container within a square of bricks or blocks, open in the middle, so that the sides of the bricks prop up against the container. Also, depending on their size and location, you might set the containers on wheeled plant stands that allow them to be rolled around to a sheltered location, although it's hard to predict when winds might blow.
