Cherry trees are susceptible to several diseases, and yours might be infected, or it might just be showing signs of stress from excessively wet or dry soil conditions. If the leaves curl and hang on the tree, it could be a sign of Brown Rot, a fungal disease. If the leaves yellow and fall off, it might indicate twig blight or root rot. To be absolutely sure of the problem and treatment, why not take a sample to your local Cooperative Extension office?
