I am a novice gardener and was wondering if I can still plant the Tuscany Terrace theme list in a 10x6 area instead of a 20x6 area if I plant them closer and keep them pruned? Also, would I prune them every fall as the best time?

I'd use the same list of plants, but plant fewer of them. If you look at the diagram and simply cut it half, then space your plants a little further apart, you'll have the same look without having it appear overgrown and crowded. Plants with adequate space between them will remain healthier, and annual pruning won't be absolutely necessary. Best wishes with your new garden!
