Question: What are shallots?

Answer: Shallots are a small, onion-like bulb, with a distinctive mild flavor. Plant in the fall, and they will mature in the summer when tops yellow and die. You can plant in the spring for a late summer harvest. Plant just deep enough to bury the bulb.
