Regarding cultured trilliums: when should leaves be removed after blooming has ceased? |
Trilliums grow from a rhizome and as such will appreciate it if you allow the foliage to die down naturally. As long as the leaves are green they are transporting energy to the root system where it will be stored for next spring's growth spurt. After the foliage has withered and died back on its own you can cut it way from the crown of the plant. |
