The Q&A Archives: Blue morning glory, evergreen?

Question: In zone 9, will this plant die back each year or stay as an evergreen during the winter? Have heard two different answers. thanks

Answer: Perennial blue morning glory is frost tender so the tops will die down if your garden experiences a frost. You can prune away the dead stems in the spring and your morning glory will practically burst into new growth and lots of new flowers.
