The Q&A Archives: Rhamnus frangula 'Asplenifolia'

Question: I just purchased a 'Monrovia' Rhamnus frangula 'Asplenifolia' and have become concerned after doing some research on the plant. I have read that even though this variety is not invasive, the seeds when carried by birds revert back to the "common buckthorn". Can you shed some light on this? I cannot, in good conscience, plant this in my yard if this is the case. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
