I just purchased a Harry Lauder plant. The Japanese Beetles are terrible this year and have eaten many of the leaves on this plant. Will the foliage come back next year or have the beetles killed this plant?

The foliage should come back next year, it may manage to regrow some this season. Since this is so stressful especially for a new plant, you could try using a neem based spray to repel them, or hand pick in the evening and morning when they are slower moving.
