I have an empty back yard with big trees. I would like to plant bushes and shrubs to cover fence. I also wants to plant annuals and perennials between shrubs. I do not have much idea about gardening. I live in Zone 8 area. Now, Temp is about 104-110F in day time. Can I plant shrubs and perennials in this weather? |
I would recommend waiting until fall to do any planting. In fact, the best times for plants to be installed in the landscape are spring and fall because the temperatures are cooler and rainfall abundant, and both help plants become established without having to deal with hot temperatures. While you're waiting you can explore the Monrovia website and do a search for plants suitable for your gardening region (based upon your zip code). You can also get some garden design ideas and print out sketches and plant lists. Best wishes with your new landscape! |
