We are redoing the pool area at my association; we have a landscape company but are having difficulty finding a creeping bougainvillea, 5 gal size, that is gold or orange, no pink hilites. Does Gold Rush come in this form? We can't use trellis style. Thankyou, Janet |
By nature, bougainvilleas will sprawl if not supported on a trellis. If you're looking for a mounding, trailing shrub, any of the gold or orange colored bougainvilleas will fit the bill. You can prune bougainvilleas back to encourage a shrub-like appearance, or you can allow them to grow into a trailing, sprawling mound. It really depends upon the amount of space you can devote to your plant. California Gold, Gold Rush or Tahitian Gold are all plants that you might want to consider. |
