Looking for 3-4 trees to line the driveway. Must have autumn color, medium to faster growth. Spring blossoms nice, not necessary. Planned on European White Birch until I heard of this |
'New Bradford' Pear (Pyrus calleryana 'New Bradford') is a greatly improved selection of the old favorite flowering pear. The 'New Bradford' pear has a much better branching habit that makes it more resistant to wind damage. This flowering pear is covered in a profusion of white blossoms in the spring. The foliage is especially glossy and disease resistant. The dark green leaves change from orange to purplish red in the fall. 'New Bradford' pear will achieve a height of 35' and width of 30' and grows best in a sunny well-drained site. |
