Question: is there a type of horsetail that grows in a single stalk?

Answer: Teresa,

Horsetails are a series of single stalks. I am not aware of any type that just has one stalk for the entire plant. Horsetail reed (Equisetum hyemale) reaches about 3-4 feet in height
