Our back yard is under water during the rainy season. The area is sugar sand mostly. We were told that some wildflowers grow well in ditches and that are sometimes filled with water and at other times they are dry. Can you give me some suggestions?

Kate,

Two that come to mind are spider lilies and pickerel weed. There are also some wild types of hibiscus that can take wet conditions as can the non-wild plant cannas.
