| WE HAD SEVERAL STRANGE PLANTS POPUP IN OUR NEW HOME. THEY COME OUT OF THE GROUND AS A LIGHT BROWN SPECKLED CONE. ONCE THE CONE STARTS TO SEPERATE, A GREEN STOCK WITH WHITE SPECKLES APPEARS. THE STOCKS DO NOT CHANGE COLORS (GREEN & WHITE)AND HAVE LITTLE NUBS ON THEM. THEY HAVE NOT FLOWERED YET AND RANGE IN SIZE FROM ONE FOOT TO THREE PLUS FEET. I'VE LIVED IN FLORIDA FOR 33 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH A PLANT AND NEITHER HAVE MY FRIENDS. CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT IT IS AND WHAT PLANET IT IS FROM OR PART OF THIS WORLD. SINCERELY, HELEN JONES |
| Helen, Very strange indeed. That description doesn't bring any plant to mind. I suggest you contact your County Extension Office at (407) 836-7573 and see about bringing in some samples or even photos of the plants to see if they can identify them for you.
