Should Baptisia be cut back in the summer or left to its original height?

This plant needs no trimming during the growing season. It needs its foliage to maintain its strength and vigor. Cut back the stems once they are killed by cold this fall or early next spring. Wait until spring if you enjoy the look and sound of the ornamental seedpods dried on the plant. Enjoy your baptisia!
