| I planted 16 rhubarb plants in a raised bed this spring. They were thriving until the summer heat started making they wilt. They are in full sun. Should I set up a shade cloth over them? Any other suggestions? |
| Rhubarb is not very tolerant of heat. If you can temporarily shade them, it might help. If the wilting continues and the leaves and stems remain limp, you'll want to cut them off the plant - they will die soon anyway. If you can move your plants this winter or next spring to a site with shade from hot afternoon sunshine you'll avoid a repeat performance! Best wishes with your garden. |
