Answer: This plant, like other yuccas, likes heat, needs full sun, requires a well drained soil and is very drought tolerant. It would need very little -- if any -- watering, possibly a deep watering once a week or every ten days while new. (Impatiens on the other hand require relatively a lot of water. Impatiens also do best in partial shade.) Based on your description, I suspect you may have overwatered it and caused some root damage as a result, this would then show as foliage symptoms when stressed by the heat. At this point, I would suggest you cut way back on the watering and hope for the best. I'm sorry you are having troule with it.
