| Tomatoes can usually get by on one-inch of water per week. In hottest weather you might want to deeply soak the plants in the ground twice a week. Potted plants might require water everyday in hot weather. It's normal for leaves to wilt in hot weather. As long as the plants perk up overnight and look good in the morning, they are getting enough water. As for harvesting your chiles, when they are the size and color of mature peppers, you can harvest them. The color is a better indicator of ripeness than size, but Anaheims can usually be harvest from July through September. |
