browning of leaves - Knowledgebase Question

a week back i planted a longon fruit tree. Recently I noticed many leaves have brown spots, the whole leaf turns brown and then they fall off.The tree was watered well on planting and it has rained yesterday,so i think water is not an issue please advise what is the problem and what should i do to cure it ? From Miami.florida

It could be too much water if the soil doesn't drain well. It could also be a fungal spot infecting the leaves. That is not a common fruit plant so I suggest you contact your County Extension Office to see about bringing in a sample and perhaps a photo of the plant in its growing location for them to use in diagnosing the problem.
