I planted an Amethyst Falls last spring and it took off on a south-facing wall. Suddenly the lower leaves look yellow (while the top still looks green and healthy). We've had an unusually hot summer, and I've been careful to water it regularly. Now I'm worried I've over watered it. Or do you think the yellowing is normal late summer behavior? |
Carolyn, It could be overwatering, a period of dry soil conditions, or a lack of nitrogen fertilizer. Sprinkle a quarter cup of high nitrogen turf fertilizer per 25 square feet of soil surface and water it in well. This should help the plant resume normal healthy growth. Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon! |
