I am replanting groundcover, and need an evergreen plant that grows fast for the slope next to my driveway. I would like it to be low to the ground and my soil is rocky with gophers. Flowering is ok with dark green leaves.

Thanks
Mark

You didn't specify whether you needed plants for a sunny, or a shady slope, so we'll supply suggestions for plants that fit your requirements and will grow in either sun or shade. Aptenia cordifolia 'Apple Red' is an exceptional groundcover for your area, growing 6"-8" tall, bearing bright red flowers and requiring very little water. The height will help disguise any gopher tunnels or mounds of dirt they leave. Also consider Kinnikinnick, Calylophus hartwegii, Gazania, Malephora (Ice Plant) or Ground Morning Glory.
