| Avocado trees are not heavy feeders, and are susceptible to salt burn, so go easy on the fertilizer. Unless your tree is showing symptoms - such as poor leaf color, it's not necessary to fertilize. The roots are shallow so it helps to allow the fallen leaves to remain under the tree to provide a protective mulch, and the decomposing leaves will return nutrients to the soil. |
