The Q&A Archives: white river birch

Question: At what height should the lowest branches be on a white river birch tree? My trees are approximately 3 years old and approximately 30-40 feet tall. The lowest branches are actually touching the ground.

Answer: You can prune the branches up as far as you want - 6' above ground level will allow you to walk beneath the tree; you can go higher if you want. Best wishes with your trees.
