Gardenias require very little pruning, aside from removing any dead or dying wood and pruning just to shape the plant. Since your gardenia is everblooming, you'll want to do your major pruing just prior to the flush of growth in the spring to avoid trimming off the newly formed is everbloomingbuds. Enjoy!
