Blooming Plant for inside window sill - Knowledgebase Question

I have a window that faces the south and would like to put a house plant on the sill inside the hoouse. Looking for a plant with red blooms. I've tried red miniature roses with no long lasting luck.

Pat,

Blooms on an indoor plant can be challenging but that window should provide enough light to have some success. If direct sun doesn't hit the spot for too long in the day I suggest you consider a red type of impatiens. They thrive in bright, indirect light. Another option might be an Anthyrium variety that produces red spaths or bloom-like structures. The following website shows an example:
