I have a space that runs along my deck that I woul dlike to plant a mixed shrub hedge w/ mult season interest. The space is 13 x 3 feet and I would not want the plants to get any higher than 6 feet or so. I do not mind maintaining them. It is in partial sun and good drainage. Plan is to hid the foundation/lattice under the deck, as well as provide a small amount of privacy when sitting on the deck. But I do not want to block the back yard view from the house (this 6 foot height is the limit.

There are many different shrubs you could use, depending in part on whether or not you are envisioning a clipped formal hedge or an informal hedge, evergreen or deciduous, and whether or not it is sunny or shady (and at what time of day), damp or dry, or especially windy where you want to plant. I would suggest you consult with your local professionally trained nurseryman to determine which plants would grow best where you want to plant and then select the ones you like best from those. Also, be sure to check their mature sizes so you do not overplant. Enjoy your new shrubs!
