What causes geranium leaves to turn red? I've had a dozen compact geraniums indoors this winter under fluorescent lights. Most are fine, but two plants are getting red leaves. |
The red color is a result of light intensity. In the garden, geraniums that are exposed to hot summer sunshine usually have a red tint to their leaves. It's harmless to the plants, but if you don't want the leaves to develop this sunburn effect, raise the lights a little higher above the plants. |
