The Q&A Archives: Growing trachelospermum in full sun in Sunset zone 7

Question: I live in Murphys, Ca. Can i grow star jasmine on a freestanding arbor in full sun? Summer temps occasionly top 100 degrees and are usually in the low to mid ninties in July and August.

Answer: Star jasmine will grow in full sun to part afternoon shade in your growing region. Summer heat generally doesn't bother it so growing it on a free-standing trellis will be just fine.
