The Q&A Archives: Ultra fine oil

Question: Will ultra fine oil kill the following 3 insects?:
Spider mites, stink bugs (Latin unknown.), and aphids.
Most importantly, will it also hurt the good insects? If so, is insecticidal soap my only hope? It hasn't worked well so far.
Thank you.

Answer: Ultra fine oils smother insects on contact and the residue does not bother beneficial insects. When used properly, they're extremely effective-you can get about a 90 percent kill rate for common garden pests like aphids, mites, whiteflies, mealy bugs and scale. For best results, apply early in the morning when small insects are most active, and don't forget to spray the undersides of the leaves.
