The nepeda in my garden has become unruly looking. I know this will eventually die back, but can it be cut back? If so, whem and how much?

TIA

Nepeta may be cut back one or more times during the summer when it looks unruly or blooming slows. Trim it off quite short and it will regrow and bloom again. It's a bit late to cut it back now but you could still do it. Also trim it back short annually -- either after frost in the fall or in early spring before it starts to grow again.
