We have just planted 5 Karl Foerster ornamental grasses in the back of our sun flower bed. There is about 6' x 12' area in front of the grass that we would like to plant with a mixture of plants that will include blooms from spring through fall and look well with the grass. We like the natural look but at the same time like some organization to the garden. What are your suggestions?

Some of the most attractive companions to ornamental grasses include ?Cheyenne? Indian Grass, Licorice Mint Hyssop, Russian Sage, ?Paprika? Yarrow, ?Select Blue? Catmint, ?Rose Glory? Rock Rose, Sundancer Daisy, ?Violet Cloud? Skullcap, ?Monch? hybrid Aster, ?Mersae Yellow? Pineleaf Beardtongue and ?Hidcote Superior? Lavender. You can fill in spaces around these perennials with some annuals for additional color throughout the seasons. If you plant these colorful splashes in groups of 3 or 5 in several places in the bed you'll have an organized, attractive bed.
