Last Summer my vegetable garden was invaded by spittlebugs.
What is the best way to get rid of them.

Spittlebugs are little sucking insects that produce a foamy blob of protection that looks like spit. If you hose the spit off the critters, they'll be vulnerable to predatory insects. If the spray of water is strong enough you might also knock them off the host plant and interrupt their feeding. You can squish them between your fingers, if you'd prefer. They're not as damaging to plants as some of the other insects out there, but they don't make things in the garden look very appetizing! Go after them with a strong stream of water.
