The Q&A Archives: pruning Cape Mallows

Question: I want to plant 3 Cape Mallows-Tara's Wonder. Can I keep them topped and rounded in shape?

Answer: It may be difficult to keep cape mallows looking neat and trim. They typically produce tall flowering stems with foliage along each stem. If you trim them into a rounded shape you'll lose some of their potential to flower.
