| This plant has a normal growth pattern that results in an overall gracefully mounded shape that is at least as wide as it is tall. Trying to keep it narrow will ruin the shape and beauty (and natural structure/strength) of the tree. If you do not have room for it to develop to its full mature size, you may want to transplant it to a different location and plant something that fits the space instead. You can remove the stake as soon as the plant is self supporting. In the meantime, you may need to loosen the ties periodically to make sure they do not cut into the bark. |
