The Q&A Archives: Purple Fountain Grass

Question: I live in the Salem Oregon Area 97304. What do I need to do to keep my Purple Fountain Grass healthy?

Answer: Purple fountain grass is frost-tender and basically an annual in your gardening region. But you can winter it over by potting it up and placing it in a cool room with fluorescent lights on 14-16 hours a day. Or, you can plan to replace it each year (which is what I do in my Seattle area garden).
