The Q&A Archives: insecticide used on plants entering Arizona

Question: I purchased a passion vine from Civano nursery in Tucson AZ very recently. I planned on using it for my butterfly garden, to feed Heliconius caterpillars. They are now all dying and I would like to know what the plants bound for Tucson were sprayed with and if there is any way of getting rid of the poison short of pulling out the plant. I spoke to the AZ dept of agriculture and they said that plants coming into AZ were required to be treated for different insects, but they did not know what you used on the passion vines.
I would appreciate any information you could give me.
