Hello... I am trying to preserve roses, glads, an iris, and some fillers from my uncle's funeral sprays. I am using Dri Splendor Silica Gel Crystals and have microwaved them as directed. Can you tell me how to tell when I can take them out of the crystals, please? They will be going into shadow boxes, and I want to do this properly. Thank you so much for your time. Chandra...

It generally takes only a few hours but can take up to 48 hours, depending on the flowers and how thick they are. Just to be on the safe side, allow them to remain in the dessicant for 48 hours (remaining for a longer period of time than required will not hurt the flowers, and will assure that they are completely dry).

Best wishes with your project!
