I'm looking at planting several Cedrus Deodara's. I live in Georgia, when is the best time to plant?

Also, is there a better alternative then this evergreen for my area? I'm looking for a fast growing evergreen conifer but don't care for the Leyland Cypress.

Matt,

Fall is a great time as it gives the roots longer to establish before the hot season arrives. Late winter and early spring are also good. I think that is a good plant for the effect you mentioned.
