The Q&A Archives: wintering over tiger canna

Question: Should I leave the cannas in the same pot and just cut them back put them in a cold dry place or shake the dirt off of them then store them in a cold place?

Answer: You can store your cannas either way. If you leave them in the pots, all you'll need to do is add water to make them grow next spring. If you dig and store them, you'll need to repot them. I'd leave them in the containers and winter them over in a cool, dry location.
