I need an evergreen shrub/plant for each side of our garage. It needs to be a column type plant that can be kept to approx. 7 ft. with light pruning without ruining the form. Slim profile and a good green or grey or blue green color. I have considered Emerald arborvitae but it will get too fat. I have also considered Tiny Towers but I'm afraid it will be hard to keep topped without ruining its form. Brush Cherry might work but we get frost. Any help or suggestions you can offer will be greatly appreciated. We shop at Newell's Nursery in Yucaipa and Cherry Valley Nursery in Cherry Valley. Thank you, Cynthia Denton |
Two shrubs come to mind - Skyrocket Juniper and Thuja pyramidalis (Arborvitae). Both will remain tall and narrow without constant pruning and you can keep both at a 7' height with a little pruning every 2-3 years. Hope one of these suggestions works for you! |
