Ficus lyrata, the Fiddle Leaf Fig, will suddenly drop leaves if it's overwatered, or it doesn't like low winter temperatures. Give your plant average household temperatures, above 55F, bright light, and allow the potting soil to dry out between waterings. Use tepid water and apply sparingly in the winter. You can mist the leaves occassionally in the summertime. Since your plant is putting out new growth, it's still reasonably healthy. Don't feed at this time, adjust the environmental conditions as much as possible, and keep fallen leaves picked up. It's normal for the older leaves to fall off eventually, so the problem may not be as serious as you think. Good luck!
