The Q&A Archives: japanese magnolia

Question: will my japanese magnolia tree grow close to the house?

Answer: Mary,

Yes but don't plant is so close that the branches would rub the roof or eaves. Depending on the variety you have and its ultimate size I would say about 6-8 foot away would be as close as I would plant one to a home.
