| I boght a home that has 2 tiny italian cedars on either side of the front entrance to the home. They were not taken care of and they have lost the swirl shape they had, now they look like bushes and I would like to fix them, but I have no clue how to do it. thank you. |
| Roni, That may be a challenge Keep in mind that you don't want to prune any branch back beyond living foliage (needles). If you cut past living needles the branch won't resprout from that point. This means you may need to use some twine, wires, etc. to bend branches into positions and shapes you are looking for...similar to bonsai training. Otherwise give up on the spiral or other such shape and shear the plant lightly to promote a full rounded shape or go with a multistemmed shrub with green foliage on the ends of the stems.
