| The best time to prune fruit trees is when they're dormant (Feb.), not in the fall. If you prune now and the weather stays warm, your trees will put out new growth which will freeze back during the winter months. You'll end up pruning the dead wood out next spring. It's best to wait until winter to do any pruning. The trees will be ready to put out new growth in the spring. The little slugs will die off with first frost. Be sure to rake up all the fallen leaves and remove them from the garden. Best wishes with your fruit trees! |
