| About four months ago, I purchased a Bird of Paradise. It's been doing reasonably well indoors, including putting up new shoots and leaves, although it hasn't yet blossomed. It now looks like it's getting a little crowded in its pot, but I'm reluctant to re-pot it because another tropical that I re-potted under similar circumstances promptly died soon thereafter. So are there other signs I should be looking for? or is it time now? Thanks! |
| Bird of Paradise does not need repotting until it is very crowded. It will also do best in as much bright light as you can provide it; this winter cut back on the watering so the soil is barely moist and do not fertilize in winter. When it eventually needs repotting, do so in the spring and use a good quality soil mix that drains well. Enjoy your plant! |
