I'm wondering how well the betula negra (river birch) will do in the Seattle area? What zone is the Seattle area? Do birch trees attract aphids?

Seattle is in USDA zone 7B. 'Heritage' River Birch does well in zone 7, growing 30" per year once established. Birches do attract aphids but 'Heritage' is resistant to bronze birch borer. Hope this information is helpful.
