The Q&A Archives: butterfly bush

Question: We have a butterfly bush that is very tall about 15 ft tall. How do i cut it back without it dying?

Answer: Cassie,

Sorry for the delayed reply. Cut the bush back in late winter as far back as you like. Then as it completes bloom cycles in summer shear it back a little and fertilize lightly then water it in well. This will keep it more compact and blooming well.

Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon!
