The Q&A Archives: Taking care of an Ivy

Question: I have had an ivy for about 6 months and it is still really small. It was a house plant and then i put it outside. I just brought it is because the leaves are all yellow and it looks bad. Is there something i can do to make it healthier looking or what have i done wrong? Please let me know. Thanks

Answer: Rachel,

Sorry for the delayed reply. Give your ivy moist but not soggy soil. Make sure the container drains well. Give it bright light but not very much if any direct sunlight. Fertilize with a soluble plant food such as Miracle Gro at the low contstant feed label rate. Trim off any unsightly foliage and it should recover and resume new growth.
