When is the best time to divide and transplant black-eyed susans, achillea and scabiosa? Can this be done in the fall? If so, before or after frost? I live in zone 5. Thank you.

You could do this in fall, but it would be better to do so in early fall so there is at least an eight week time frame before the ground freezes. That allows them time to become rooted and re-established before the cold weather hits. I think it is a bit late to divide them now. You can divide them in the early spring though.
