i have a variety of palm trees, some 20ft high. Lower branches turn brown, I am constantly pruning these. Is there a certain time of year I should be doing this? Do I remove the

Sorry for the delayed reply. If you are removing dead, brown fronds it doesn't matter when you do that. Green fronds should not be removed. The "furr" at the base can be removed or left. On some palms it comes off quite easily and on other not so. Look around town and you can see how various palm types are cared for regarding removal of the stuff around the trunk. There is not a right or wrong to this decision.
